This tutorial will walk you through the process of making a home stereo with Bluetooth wireless capability. You can do this by building it yourself or buying one that has already been made.
I recommend that you build your own so you can have complete control over the design, but if you are pressed for time, I have listed three companies which sell pre-made cases for this project.
This takes about four hours to complete, but there is plenty of room for working with your hands and laboriously placing components in the project case.

Why Make Home Stereo Wireless?
Wired home audio systems have not been a positive experience for some people. A lot of people would love to have a wireless audio system in their home, but they just can’t afford to buy a commercial product that costs thousands of dollars. Your wireless system will work on the same wiring as any other electrical system in your home.
In addition, if you have a lot of different rooms in your house, this will give you the ability to place speakers where you want them without running wires or using an expensive multi-room audio system.
That is because you can simply put everything together and wire it for stereo right from the speaker case itself. This means that you will never have to run cables from your speakers throughout your entire house.
Advantages of Wireless Home Stereo:
This project has a lot of advantages. First, it would be a very easy way to get the music you want into your home. This “wireless” stereo can be placed anywhere in your house and you don’t have to run any cables from the stereo location to the other rooms. This means that anybody can listen to what you have playing in your room at any time.
Furthermore, because this system does not involve cables running from the stereo speakers to other rooms, this will never cause interference with any other wireless devices such as cell phones or baby monitors in your house.
This is one of the most convenient and versatile ways around using a dock with a separate set of speaker systems in all rooms of your home. With some cleverly placed speakers and carefully designed speaker placement, you will be able to create the same multi-room audio experience as those expensive multi-room audio systems.
And, unlike those commercial products which cost thousands of dollars for a set of four speakers and a base unit, you can build your own for a fraction of the price.
How to Make a Home Stereo Bluetooth Wireless?
1. Choose Materials
The materials list is fairly short. You only need the case, some screws, and some wires. Although you can buy pre-made cases made specifically for this project if you want, I suggest that you build your own case because it will give you much more control over the design. But if you’d like to save time and money, I’ve listed three companies which make pre-made cases in either wood or plastic.
The cost ranges from $60 to $120 depending on the model of the case that you purchase. If you choose to build your own box, I will list all of the materials that are needed to do so in Step 2 of this tutorial.
2. Assemble the Case
The first step is to assemble the case. It’s really easy, but it does require that you spend some time to make sure that you’re doing it right. I’ve provided you with step by step pictures on how to do this. You will also need two wood screws to attach the bracket that will hold your speakers in place.
If you choose to purchase a pre-made box, it should come with all of these necessary components already installed for you. However, if you buy your own case, make sure that all of these parts are present and ready to go before starting this task. Otherwise, go ahead and start putting everything together now.
3. Layout for Speaker Sockets
In this step, you will take the speakers and spray paint them with glow paint to make it easier to see where to drill holes for the speaker wires. Then, you will place the speakers in the back of your case and mark where you want them located.
In addition, I suggest using a hot glue gun to glue the speakers into their final permanent positions. This will ensure that they do not move or vibrate when they are turned on or off.
4. Drill Speaker Holes
The next step is to drill holes in your speaker box where your speakers will be positioned for optimal sound quality according to physics and acoustics. For this project, you will need to drill four holes.
You can see these holes above in the photo of the speaker box with the speakers already installed in them. The drilled holes measure about 1/2 inch in diameter. It is important that they are located close to where the speaker wires are coming out of the case so they all get routed neatly through the hole and into the side of your box.
5. Glue Speaker Wires to Bracket
For this project, you will need to glue four wires into wooden brackets that will serve as stand-by power connections for your speakers. These wires will be used later after you have completed Step 6 on powering up your speaker system.
For this step, you will need a hot glue gun and four wooden brackets that fit inside your speaker box.
6. Power Up the Speaker System
This is the final step in building your stereo wireless system. Here, you will be powering up everything and testing your wiring for basic functionality. You will also be installing the speaker brackets so that everything fits together perfectly.
For this step, you will need some wire strippers, electrical tape, some wire nuts, an audio cable, glue for speaker wires (optional), and some screws to attach the bracket that holds your speakers in place.
Conclusion:
There you have it. This project is very easy to do and, with a little time and patience, you can create a brilliant set up to play music in any room of your house. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this project or if you’d like more instructions on how to get this system working perfectly. Good luck!
